Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Updated October 28, 2026 · Version 2026-10-28.1

This separate notice describes consumer health data covered by applicable US state consumer-health privacy laws, including Washington’s My Health My Data Act.

1. Health-data contact

SugarCount AI health-data contact: 3230 Yonge Street #4218, Toronto, ON M4N 3P6, Canada. This notice applies when we process consumer health data covered by an applicable US consumer-health privacy law. Contact sugarcountaibusiness@gmail.com for health-data questions or requests.

2. Categories and sources

Covered data may include your meal and nutrition records, food photos or descriptions linked to you, dietary preferences, allergies, nutrition goals, health-related inferences from those inputs, and activity or dietary-sugar summaries you permit a health connection to provide. Sources are you, your selected connected services, and the results generated from those permitted inputs. A food-reference record that is not linked to a person is not by itself that person’s health record.

3. Why we collect and use it

We use the information for requested nutrition logging, food estimates, meal ideas, activity context, saving/synchronizing records, support, security and privacy requests. Collection or sharing beyond what is necessary to provide a service you request requires the consent that applicable law requires. We do not treat accepting general Terms, signing in with Google or opening the website as consent to optional health collection or sharing.

4. Sharing and recipients

Supabase processes private account-linked storage and backend operations. With your permission, OpenAI processes selected food photos, descriptions and preferences for the AI feature; Google Health history is not automatically sent with those requests. Apple or Google processes the connection you choose; support and mailbox services process the information you deliberately provide in a request. Providers receive only the information needed for the disclosed task, subject to applicable restrictions.

We do not sell consumer health data or use it for targeted advertising, data-broker profiles, credit, insurance or employment decisions. Health-device history is not sent to grocery checkout or general traffic analytics. No affiliate programme or optional marketing is activated by this notice. We do not use geofencing around healthcare facilities to identify or track health-service visits.

5. Consent, access, deletion and appeal

You may request confirmation of covered collection/sharing, access and the applicable list of recipients, withdraw relevant consent, request deletion, or appeal a denied request as provided by applicable law. Use available app privacy/connection controls or email sugarcountaibusiness@gmail.com with “Consumer health data request” in the subject. We verify ownership proportionately and explain the decision within the applicable period; an appeal may be sent to the same address with “Appeal” in the subject. You may contact the relevant state attorney general if an appeal is denied.

Automatic account-deletion processing is not enabled in the current prelaunch release. Contact sugarcountaibusiness@gmail.com from your account email to request deletion or help without the app. Do not send a password or verification code. We verify ownership, explain the applicable completion period and any lawful exception, and confirm completion separately. Opening an email draft, hiding a scan or uninstalling the app does not erase an account.

Withdrawing permission stops the covered future optional processing; it does not erase saved data by itself. A verified deletion request covers eligible copies and required processor notifications, subject to lawful exceptions and applicable backup rules. We do not discriminate against you for exercising a protected right, although a feature cannot run without data genuinely needed to provide it.
