Clear expectations for using SugarCount AI.

These Terms govern the SugarCount AI website and applicable mobile services. Contact address: 3230 Yonge Street #4218, Toronto, ON M4N 3P6, Canada. Use the service lawfully, protect your account and do not access another person’s records. The service is not intended for children under 13. Minors must meet applicable local age and parent or guardian authorization requirements. Store age ratings do not by themselves establish legal consent.

Accepting these Terms is separate from acknowledging the Privacy Policy and from choosing optional AI, health or marketing permissions. A material change requiring new consent will not be accepted on your behalf merely because you continue using the app.

SugarCount AI provides general nutrition and wellness information, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. AI and food-database results can be incomplete or wrong. Review portions, ingredients and package labels before relying on a result.

An AI food photo or description produces an estimate. Barcode and search results come from food-reference databases; manual entries are information supplied by the user. No source is a guarantee of completeness or accuracy. Confirm the food, brand, serving size and preparation method before saving. A confidence indicator is not a measured accuracy percentage or medical validation.

Vitamins and minerals are shown only when reported by a supported source. Unknown is not zero. A photo cannot establish a complete micronutrient profile. Total sugar, added sugar and naturally occurring sugar are different measures; the app must not present a split as known when the source does not report it. Values per serving and per 100 g or 100 ml are not interchangeable. Carbohydrate and fibre definitions and reference targets can vary across countries.

AI cannot verify that food is allergen-free, gluten-free, safe from cross-contact, fresh or properly cooked. Dietary preferences such as vegan, keto, halal or kosher are planning preferences, not certification. Read the current ingredient and allergen label and ask the retailer or manufacturer when needed. Never use a suggested swap as proof of allergen or dietary safety.

The service is designed for general wellness education, not diagnosis, treatment, disease prevention, blood-glucose measurement or emergency care. Do not use a scan to calculate insulin or medication doses. Dietary sugar logged in a health service is not a glucose sensor reading. Lower sugar does not automatically mean healthier for every person.

For diabetes, pregnancy, kidney disease, eating disorders, severe allergies, prescribed diets or other medical concerns, ask a qualified healthcare professional before relying on suggestions or changing intake. No weight-loss outcome, treatment result, calorie need or nutrient target is guaranteed.

Review the portion and result, correct mistakes where the app allows, and use manual entry when a reliable record is unavailable. Report an unsafe or incorrect result through the app’s report/help controls or sugarcountaibusiness@gmail.com. Do not include unrelated private medical records in a report. A report is not an emergency service.

AI use is disclosed when the feature is chosen. A privacy policy does not replace the in-app permission before personal information is sent to a third-party AI service. Features may be unavailable when a provider, connection or service safeguard prevents a reliable result; the app must not substitute a fabricated success.

Paid options may include Premium, SmartCart+ and the complete Pro Bundle. SugarCount Pro means the Premium + SmartCart+ Bundle. Products, availability, prices, currencies and billing periods can vary by country and store account. The official Apple or Google checkout controls the final price, billing period, trial eligibility, renewal terms and charge date. The website does not sell a mobile subscription or accept card payments.

An eligible new subscriber may receive a 3-day introductory store trial after confirming the store subscription. A verified referral may qualify for a 7-day store offer only when the store explicitly confirms it. Offers do not stack, are not guaranteed for every new account, and are not granted simply by registering. Unless cancelled through the store before renewal, an auto-renewing subscription converts or renews at the terms displayed there.

Cancel or manage a subscription in the Apple or Google account used to buy it. Deleting the app or SugarCount account does not cancel that subscription. Restore purchases with the original store account. Refunds, disputes and applicable withdrawal rights follow the store process and mandatory consumer law. Nothing here removes rights you cannot legally waive. Do not assume a promotional reward delays a store charge.

The Free plan includes up to 3 successful food scans per day shared across photo, text and barcode scans, plus 2 SmartCart AI optimizations. Basic cart building and Instacart handoff are separate from the AI allowance. History access can depend on the plan; a restricted display window is not proof that stored data has been deleted.

Paid scanning is for personal use and remains subject to disclosed fair-use, provider availability, security, rate-limit and cost-abuse safeguards. It does not permit bots, resale, scraping, credential sharing or bypassing restrictions. A safety pause or failed request must not be presented as a successful analysis. Material changes to paid access will be communicated as required by applicable law.

A new referred account must claim one valid code within 24 hours, verify the account and meet store eligibility for any advertised offer. The referrer earns 7 promotional Pro days only after the friend’s first verified paid charge passes a 7-day hold and fraud checks. Limits are 5 qualified rewards per rolling year and 2 per 30 days. Sharing is not a promise that every referral earns a reward.

Self-referrals, duplicate or circular accounts, fraud, refunds, chargebacks and attempts to bypass limits may invalidate a claim or reward. We use proportionate verification and provide support for questions or review of a decision. Rewards are not cash or affiliate commissions and do not automatically postpone a store bill. A website visit creates no trial, purchase or reward.

Instacart is the only grocery-checkout integration where enabled. SugarCount provides planning and informational suggestions; it does not operate the grocery store or process the grocery payment. Instacart and participating retailers control availability, descriptions, final prices, taxes, fees, substitutions, checkout, pickup, delivery, refunds and order support. Review the current product label and checkout before ordering. Grocery availability is not worldwide simply because nutrition lookup works in multiple countries.

If an approved affiliate relationship becomes active, SugarCount may earn a commission from qualifying grocery activity. Any such relationship must be disclosed clearly beside the relevant recommendation or handoff; this paragraph alone does not activate a programme or promise commissions. Referral Pro rewards are a separate programme.

Only provide content you are entitled to use. Your account content remains yours; you permit the processing needed to provide the features you request, as explained in the Privacy Policy. This is not a general licence to sell your health information or use it for advertising.

SugarCount-owned original branding, software and content are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Third-party software, AI services and food-reference data retain their own terms and licences. Open Food Facts database data uses ODbL and individual database contents use DbCL; applicable source notices must be preserved. User accounts, private meals, health data and photos are not offered as an open food database.

Food data and licences

The Privacy Policy explains processing, optional permissions, international transfers and your rights. Use available privacy controls for exports or consent choices and contact support if a control is unavailable.

Automatic account-deletion processing is not enabled in the current prelaunch release. Contact sugarcountaibusiness@gmail.com from your account email to request deletion or help without the app. Do not send a password or verification code. We verify ownership, explain the applicable completion period and any lawful exception, and confirm completion separately. Opening an email draft, hiding a scan or uninstalling the app does not erase an account.

A verified erasure process removes eligible account, meal, scan, preference, imported health and private app-file data, subject only to specific lawful retention. We must confirm completion and any exception. We do not promise immediate erasure of every backup or records independently held by a store or provider.

Privacy Policy

Some integrations and store listings are still being prepared and are not live merely because described here. Features depend on supported devices, permissions, network access and providers. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, compatibility with every old device, complete global food coverage, measured accuracy or a particular health outcome.

We may proportionately restrict unlawful, unsafe or abusive use and investigate suspected fraud. We provide notice or reasons and an opportunity to raise a concern where required and safe to do so. Material service or Terms changes are communicated as required; mandatory cancellation, refund and other consumer rights remain available.

Use reasonable care when reviewing results and making dietary or shopping decisions. To the extent applicable law permits, liability for indirect or consequential loss may be limited; nothing excludes liability, warranties, refunds or remedies that cannot legally be excluded. The service does not replace professional medical care.

Ontario and Canadian law govern these Terms to the extent permitted without overriding mandatory protections where you live. An exclusive Ontario forum is not imposed where local law gives you another right.
